Parallel sliding system

A parallel sliding system allows the leaf to first separate from the window frame, pop out, and then slide parallel alongside the fixed section. These systems are frequently used for balcony doors and medium-sized glazed surfaces because they save space and allow easy, quiet operation.

Compared to lift-and-slide systems, parallel sliding systems can also be produced in smaller dimensions and are less expensive due to their simpler mechanism and less demanding manufacturing. They offer good thermal and acoustic insulation, a modern appearance and practicality, making them suitable for a wide range of residential spaces.

Parallel sliding system models

Our range includes single-leaf and multi-leaf systems in PVC and aluminium versions. Every model is adapted to the opening dimensions, glass type and desired aesthetic characteristics.

About the system

How a parallel sliding system works

A parallel sliding system works by having the leaf pop out of the window frame when opened, then slide parallel alongside the fixed section. Turning the handle activates a mechanism that allows the leaf to move effortlessly along the tracks.

When closing, the leaf snaps back into the frame and presses firmly against it, ensuring a good seal and both thermal and acoustic insulation. This system saves space and allows large glazed surfaces to be operated with ease.

Tilt ventilation is also possible.

Types and variants

Parallel sliding system types

From simple balcony systems to panoramic façades — there is a configuration for every opening and every requirement.

01Standard

Single-leaf parallel sliding

One leaf slides parallel alongside a fixed panel. Ideal for standard balconies and terraces. Simple mechanism, fewer components, reliable long-term use.

02Most popular

Double-leaf parallel sliding

Two sliding leaves that move in opposite directions, opening the central part of the aperture. The ideal balance between opening size and ease of use.

03Large openings

Multi-leaf system

Three or four leaves on a single track. For panoramic façades and winter gardens up to 8 metres wide. Each leaf slides independently and stacks to one side.

04Affordable

PVC parallel sliding

PVC version with excellent thermal insulation at a more accessible price. Available in white and all RAL film wraps. Suited to residential buildings with standard openings.

05Premium

ALU parallel sliding

Aluminium profiles with thermally broken chambers. Slimmer than PVC, capable of carrying larger and heavier leaves, available in all RAL colours. The standard for commercial and luxury residential buildings.

Why choose them

Benefits of parallel sliding systems

Parallel sliding doors combine simplicity of mechanism with a modern appearance and high technical performance.

Maximum glass surface

Minimal profiles and the absence of a visible frame between leaves allow an almost frameless glass wall. Natural light and the view are unobstructed by any structural element.

Class A thermal insulation

With ALU profiles featuring thermally broken chambers and triple Low-E glazing, parallel sliding systems achieve U-values below 1.0 W/m²K — suitable even for passive-house construction.

Quiet and effortless gliding

Precision stainless-steel tracks and quality wheel bearings guarantee quiet, smooth gliding without effort, even for leaves weighing more than 200 kg.

Long lifespan with minimal maintenance

ALU profiles are resistant to corrosion, UV rays and weather. The system requires no painting, varnishing or special upkeep — only occasional track cleaning and wheel lubrication.

Applications

Where parallel sliding doors are used

Any space that requires an unobstructed indoor–outdoor connection with maximum natural light is ideal for a parallel sliding system.

Terraces and balconies

The most popular application. Parallel sliding doors connect the living room and terrace, opening the entire wall and eliminating the boundary between indoors and the garden.

Winter gardens

Multi-leaf systems for enclosing winter gardens with the option of full opening during the summer season. Thermally efficient for year-round use.

Panoramic façades

Slim-line ALU systems with minimal profiles for modern commercial and residential façades. Glass dominates, the structure recedes — a clean and contemporary architectural expression.

Restaurants and hotels

Easy opening of entire glass walls towards a terrace or garden is ideal for hospitality venues that want flexibility and visual appeal.
