Window drip caps
protection from moisture and rainwater

Window drip caps provide reliable protection of the joint between the window, wall and facade from rainwater and moisture ingress. Correctly fitted drip caps prevent water pooling, mould growth and facade damage, extending the durability of the building.

We offer standard ALU and cast ALU drip caps, made to measure and available in various dimensions and RAL colours. They are characterised by long service life, weather resistance and a modern appearance that fits every type of window joinery.

Drip caps available

ALU, steel and PVC drip caps for windows and window sills — cut to measure and available in all RAL colours.

What is the difference between standard powder-coated ALU drip caps and cast ALU drip caps?

Standard powder-coated ALU drip caps are made from bent aluminium sheet and represent an economical and practical solution for protecting windows and facades from rainwater. They are lightweight, available in all RAL colours and integrate easily with PVC and ALU window joinery.

Cast ALU drip caps are more substantial and aesthetically more refined, with precisely shaped side ends and greater rigidity. They offer a more luxurious appearance, better stability and longer service life, making them a frequent choice for modern and premium buildings.

About the product

Why a drip cap is essential for every window

A drip cap is an aluminium profile fitted on the outside of PVC, ALU and timber windows with the purpose of directing rainwater and snowmelt away from the facade. This protects the joint between the window and wall from moisture ingress and extends the durability of the facade.

On facades with thermal insulation, correct water drainage is especially important. When water penetrates between the drip cap and the thermal insulation, moisture can become trapped, freeze, crack the finishing layer and lead to costly repairs. A quality aluminium drip cap with the appropriate slope and drip edge prevents water retention and protects the facade in the long term.

In addition to its protective function, a drip cap also plays an aesthetic role. Powder-coated aluminium drip caps are available in all RAL tones to match the colour of the window and facade — whether you want a perfectly coordinated look or a modern contrasting detail.

Types and materials

Types of drip caps

For every building type and architectural requirement there is a matching material — from economical ALU to premium copper.

01Most popular

ALU drip caps

Aluminium drip caps are lightweight, corrosion-free and available in all RAL colours. Ideal for PVC and ALU windows as the materials do not react with each other. Thin profile with an elegant appearance.

02Most durable

Galvanised steel drip caps

Hot-dip galvanised steel resistant to mechanical impact and extreme temperatures. Intended for industrial buildings, large facade surfaces and roof edges with intense loading.

03Premium

Copper drip caps

The natural patina of copper gradually develops a greenish tone that gives an authentic, architectural appearance. Exceptionally long-lasting — service life of 50–100 years. For exclusive residential and public buildings.

04Architectural

Titanium-zinc drip caps

Modern grey colour with a matt finish characteristic of contemporary architecture. A self-protecting material that requires no surface treatment. Lightweight, flexible and long-lasting.

05Economical

PVC drip caps

Plastic drip caps are the most affordable solution for residential buildings. Easy installation, corrosion-free, available in white and grey. Used on window sills and smaller roof surfaces.

06Modern

Stainless steel drip caps

Stainless steel with a gloss or matt finish for modern architecture and industrial facades. Exceptionally resistant to corrosion and chemicals. Popular in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Benefits

What a drip cap protects and why it matters

Protection of window sills from moisture

A drip cap channels rainwater away from the window sill and prevents water from pooling. Without a drip cap, water penetrates the window-to-wall joint and over time causes damp, mould and damage to render or thermal insulation.

Protection of the facade from staining

Drops falling from the edge of the drip cap land away from the facade. The facade stays clean for longer — no rust streaks, algae or deposits from rainwater running down the wall.

Prevention of water ingress into the wall

A correctly sized drip cap with a drip edge directs water away from the window frame and wall layer. It eliminates one of the most common causes of damage to external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS).

Durability and resistance to weather

ALU and galvanised drip caps do not corrode, do not crack in frost and do not deform under the load of snow and ice. Once correctly fitted they require no replacement for decades.

Tailored to every window and facade

Drip caps are manufactured to the exact width and length of the window sill. The colour is matched to the window and facade — white, anthracite, grey, brown or any RAL colour.

Fast and simple installation

ALU and PVC drip caps are cut to length, fitted beneath the window frame (or directly onto the sill) and fixed with mechanical anchors or aluminium adhesive. Installation of one drip cap takes just a few minutes with the right tools and materials.
